Houston, we have a ton of problems, but no way to structure and analyze them. Today I looked into a structured approach to gather, store and analyze problems and solutions.
My Mood:

What I did
My focus today was to try and figure out a way to gather, store and analyze ideas that pop up in my head or that come to me from my surroundings. Gathering ideas has always been quite easy in my honest opinion, but the majority of them turn into mush quickly because I have no way of properly storing and analyzing them. An idea could be to make a product that takes care of that …
Any idea that comes to mind is worthless unless it is in fact something the people want, and without it it will only be another gadget gathering dust somewhere.
So I’ve decided that I want to listen to the people and only solve problems that they want me to solve.

From now on, when I hear about a problem and it is in fact something you want me to solve, then I will ask myself the following questions:
- To whom does this problem happen too?
- How often does this problem occur?
- How much does it affect you?
- How is it solved today?
- Why does it need improving?
And finally, what would an ideal solution to this problem look like?
After researching all of this, I decided to put on my thinking hat and get to work …
And to just give a general tip, soft piano music, notepad and a pen is all you really need to gather ideas. The view also helps get the creative juices flowing …

Findings and Learnings of Today
- Do you want me to solve this?
- If yes, ask myself core questions and take notes
- Analog (Notepad and pen) is the way to go
- Personal preference
Up Next
- I want to look into categories next as I do tend to focus to broadly and end up spiraling into everything and nothing.
